DAKOTA

Kortmar DC Dakota WTD

ANKC Registered Alaskan Malamute | Bred by Brad & Lyne Leeson Male | 25.06.1996 - 26.04.2009 On Anzac weekend 2009, we sadly had to say goodbye to Dakota, the big man.
If sheer determination and strength is what you look for in a dog, then Dakota was what you would have wanted. An awesome runner who had a turbo switch when needed and the brains to be a great leader.
Dakota and his litter sister Aspen, were a remarkable team. The big boy, 30 inches at the withers, had fantastic conformation for harness work and he proved this time and time again. Even at 7 years of age, his average speed was 27 1/2 kms per hour. Not bad for a 50kg dog at an age when most other Malamutes would have been retired.
He was awarded his WTD (Working Team Dog) from the AMCNSW.
Dakota left a huge hole in our kennel when he passed away. And it was a much quieter place.
